Wargaming en WWII Foundation organiseert Band of Brothers Actors Reunion

Wargaming zal als sponsor fungeren voor de 'Band of Brothers Actors Reunion' in Normandië. Dit evenement, dat onderdeel uitmaakt van de 70-jarige herdenking van het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, zal plaatsvinden van 4 tot 7 juni.

Tracy Spaight, director of Special Projects at Wargaming, wist daarover het volgende te zeggen:

Wargaming is proud to sponsor this year's D-Day commemoration events, in partnership with the World War II Foundation. We share the World War II Foundation's passion for history, both in the design of our games and in our work with museums, and we are thus delighted to work together to tell the stories of D-Day.

Tim Gray, Chairman van the World War II Foundation, had daarop nog een toevoeging:

The World War II Foundation is honored to have Wargaming as our presenting sponsor of the 2015 Band of Brothers Actors Reunion in Normandy. As well as being the top online military gaming company in the world, Wargaming truly cares about the history of those who served in World War II. They are dedicated to the preservation of that history through the efforts of organizations and museums and share a similar mission to that of the World War II Foundation, which is to preserve our history for future generations.

Tijdens dit evenement kunnen bezoekers zich mengen onder de acteurs uit 'HBO's Band of Brothers' en daarnaast het 'Overload'- en 'Utah Beach'-museum bezoeken. Vervolgens zal deze tour iedereen meenemen langs vestigingen van de 'Atlantic Wall' en andere historische locaties. Uiteindelijk zal er nog een krans worden gelegd bij het Richard D. Winters Leadership Monument in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont.

Wargaming wilt hiermee iets teruggeven aan haar community en ook laten zien dat zij zeer begaan is met de vele veteranen uit verschillende oorlogen.
