De hoofddirecteur van Gearbox Software, Randy Pitchford, heeft bevestigd dat er meer downloadbare content voor Borderlands 2 op komst is. De eerdere extra Borderlands 2 content, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, zal dus zeker niet het laatste zijn. Dit is wat Pitchford te zeggen had:
We are going to do more; we are going to do some other things. I don't have details exactly of it yet, 'cause we're not ready to announce what the other things are, but when the next campaign DLC comes, Assault On Dragon Keep won't be the end of it. We've got more stuff in the hopper that we're planning and getting pretty excited about. So if you're a Borderlands 2 fan, you don't have to be afraid that that's the end of it.
Liefhebbers van Borderlands 2 worden dus voorlopig nog verwend met extra content. Tevens heeft Pitchford laten weten dat Gearbox Software aan een nieuwe IP werkt voor de next-gen consoles.
